Naturally everyone KNOWS about it.... but how many others apart from myself actually use it?

I brought my Rit into Eye of the North over the weekend.... and wanted to Unlock Hayda for her so she could have a Paragon Hero at her disposal. Rather than take the long path through Varajar Fells, Verdant Cascades, Vloxen Excavations, etc etc etc .... I decided to redirect her through the Battledepths, Heart of the Shiverpeaks, out of Bogroot Growths and into Sparkfly Swamp (then from there to Gadd's Encampment with only ONE fight along the way with a couple of Ferothrax).

And oddly enough... I actually find that not just a shorter route but an easier one too. Helped me get Hayda VERY quickly.

What I just can't understand.... is why A-Net bothered to include such a thing. Why link a route from the Battledepths to Bogroot Growths?

How about a shortcut from Beacon's Perch to Drognar? It allows skipping 60% of the game content (made my first 200k running people back in the good old days)

I've read somewhere that the Bogroot Growths is actually the recommended path to get to Gadd's encampment.

It's not an easy choice, imho. The 1st route is easy in terms of difficulty, except for Shards of Orr which can be a pain. The 2nd one is not so easy overall due to a dungeon level that you have to do entirely (is it HoS level 2?), and then Sparkfly Swamp which can also be painful.

I personally prefer to take my survivors through the Orr route.

The day after GW:EN came out I went exploring after talking to Jalis in the Battledepths. About an hour later I ended up in Gadds Encampment having not done any of the Asuran quests

I like the alternative route, it was fun not having a clue where I was going.

i also was in gadds emcampement without being bothered by asura xD

just trough battledepts didnt even noticed that i was in asura land :P

and btw i go trough the asura questline in rougly 2 hours
